OREGON RURAL ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE ASSOCIATION

ACRE

ACTION COMMITTEE FOR RURAL ELECTRIFICATION

ACRE is a nonpartisan political action committee (PAC) supporting candidates for the Oregon Legislature and Congress who are friends of rural electrification.  About one-half of the ACRE funds are contributed to Oregon legislative candidates while the other half is contributed to go the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association for the support of legislators in the U.S. House and Senate who are favorable to the national legislative goals of the electric cooperative movement.

ACRE is a nonpartisan PAC.  Decisions to support a candidate or incumbent are made on the basis of that individual's record on rural electrification, not on the basis of political party.  In Oregon, both democratic and republican legislators are supported.

ACRE dues are $25 per year for regular membership, $100 per year for century club membership and $500 per year for presidential membership.  Members who contribute to ACRE receive a lapel pin and periodic issues of the ACRE Newsletter.

If you are interested in joining ACRE, contact ORECA for more information.
