Youth Programs

Empowering the Next Generation

Oregon’s electric cooperatives are committed to investing in the communities they serve, including creating opportunities for the next generation.

Through youth programs focused on leadership, education, and career exploration, students have opportunities to expand their horizons, develop valuable skills and discover new possibilities for their futures. Along the way, they gain a better understanding of electric cooperatives and the important role cooperatives play in communities across Oregon.

Why Youth Programs Matter

Today’s students will become tomorrow’s community leaders, professionals and cooperative members. Providing young people with meaningful opportunities to learn, lead and explore helps prepare them for the future while encouraging them to become engaged in the communities they call home.

Oregon’s electric cooperatives’ youth programs offer experiences that go beyond the classroom. Students can develop leadership and communication skills, explore potential career paths, build new connections, and learn firsthand about the cooperative way of doing business. By investing in Oregon’s young people today, electric cooperatives are helping develop informed, engaged leaders who can contribute to strong rural communities for generations to come.
