Electric Cooperative Youth Tour
Oregon Rural Electric Cooperative Association (ORECA) is proud to support and coordinate the Electric Cooperative Youth Tour, an unforgettable leadership opportunity for high school students. Each June, students selected by their electric cooperative travel to Washington, D.C., for a once-in-a-lifetime experience where they explore our nation’s history, learn about the important role electric cooperatives play in their communities, meet with elected officials, and visit some of America’s most historic landmarks.
This tradition dates back to the 1950s and doesn’t just entail a week-long, all-expenses-paid trip; students have the opportunity to learn about careers in electric cooperatives, join the Youth Leadership Council for a year of leadership training, and be eligible for scholarships.
